DHT featuring Edmée is a European Electronic Dance formation with DJ, MC & Producer Da Rick (Flor Theeuwes) & singer Edmée Daenen.
With their 2005 dance remix and unplugged piano remake of ‘Listen to your heart’ (Roxette 1988) they hit the No 1 spot in the US mainstream top 40 and No 8 in the Billboard Hot 100, the song became a Top hit all over the world.
DHT was signed on Robbins Entertainment (New York) the same label of: Cascada (everytime we touch), DJ Sammy (heaven) and Lasgo (Something).
Over the years the music of DHT has turned into a unique style, with influences from all kinds of music. From a fist pumping “Hardbounze Mix” to trance or a beautiful ballad, everything could fit their style. The follow up singles: Someone, I go Crazy and Your touch all made it into the chart which proves that DHT featuring Edmée was more than just a one day fly!
On ‘Heaven is a place on earth’. Another 80’s classic made famous by Belinda Carlisle. Edmée was hailed by the song’s writer Ellen Shipley, who “loved her voice and her interpretation of the song”.
For many years DHT featuring Edmée have been touring the world and sold out many venues and clubs as they were well known for their energetic live performance. This gave them the opportunity to open for many successful artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Cascada, MC Hammer and many more.
Flor a.k.a Da Rick is a DJ & MC and the main producer, writer, composer and sometimes even a singer for DHT. On stage ‘Da Rick’ is always full of energy, "playing our music and hyping the crowd is what I live for". Da Rick is still very active in the studio and every weekend he is DJ-ing on the biggest party's and festivals all over the world. (For DA RICK DJ-bookings click here)
Edmée’s singing career started back in 2001 when she was only 15 years old. She started out as a studio singer due to her young age. When Edmée turned 18 in 2003 she joined DHT on stage. Since then her live vocals have been a great success factor of their performances. Edmée also started working as a songwriter and has since worked or collaborated with Regi, DJ F.R.A.N.K., DiMaro, Dum Dum Club and many others.
The name DHT or D.H.T. is an abreviation of a former and different project. Due to a change of music style DHT became a Spinoff and is leading a whole new life and own identity. Now DHT is often referred as Dance House Trance or Don't Hate This.
The original project: Danger Hardcore Team is still making music as well.
DHT has worked with awesome co-producers like: Jan Vervloet (aka Thunder Deejay), Jeffrey Vissers (aka DJ Malone), Tommy Debie, Serge Raymaekers, Bart Wierszbicky and Bas van Tilburg.
